A new fight with an old nemesis...

Our mom, Vicki, is beginning a long and arduous process back to health. After months of consistent pain, it became acute this past Saturday and required an ER visit.

To be brief, she was admitted and found to have a tumor at the base of her head/upper neck. It seems to be a return of metastatic breast cancer that has laid dormant for the last 23 years. It has spread to her C1 vertebrae and eroded the bone and into the surrounding soft tissue. She is having surgery to stabilize her head and neck which requires plates and rods in the next day or so.

After this is healed, she will begin aggressive radiation treatment, as it cannot be removed surgically. She has an amazing team of neurosurgeons and oncologists.

This is certainly a marathon, not a sprint.

Any assistance to help financially is appreciated. We only want her focused on healing.

Anyone that knows our mom, knows she beat the odds once and we have all the faith that she will again!
