My name is Naum Goldenstein, and I'm fundraising to help my father Arkady Goldenstein keep sharing his incredible musical talent with the world. Arkady is  an accomplished clarinet teacher and player who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis about five years ago. 

Before his treatment began, the instability he experienced caused him to fall and damage his ring finger. The finger never healed properly, and now he struggles to cover some of the holes on his clarinet. 

We looked far and wide and eventually came upon a special clarinet which could greatly aid Arkady's playing. It is hand made with covered tone holes. This means, when he plays on it, my father won't have to struggle to cover the holes, thereby greatly improving his playing experience. 

Music has been my father's whole life, and when you listen to him play, (which I hope you will in the links I've provided!) it shows. Watching him perform live is even more electrifying. He carries the torch of an important tradition of Klezmer players, and I know that this effort - your effort! will help him continue to share this tradition, music, and spirit with us for many years to come.

שמי נאום גולדנשטיין, ואני מגייס כספים כדי לעזור לאבי ארקדי גולדנשטיין להמשיך ולשתף את הכישרון המוסיקלי המדהים שלו         עם העולם. ארקדי הוא מורה ונגן קלרינט מכשר שאובחן כחולה טרשת נפוצה לפני כחמש שנים 


לפני תחילת הטיפול, חוסר היציבות שחווה גרם לו ליפול ולנזק באצבע הטבעת שלו. האצבע מעולם לא נרפאה כראוי, ועכשיו הוא מתקשה לכסות חלק מהחורים בקלרינט לו.


בדקנו רבות ולבסוף נתקלנו בקלרינט מיוחד שיכול לעזור מאוד לנגינה של ארקדי. זה עשוי בעבודת יד עם לחצנים מיוחדים שאטומים את החורים. המשמעות היא שכאשר הוא מנגן על זה אבי לא יצטרך להיאבק בכיסוי החורים ובכך ישפר מאוד אתחווית הנגינה שלו.


המוסיקה הייתה כל חיי אבי, וכשאתה מאזין לו מנגן (שאני מקווה שתעשה זאת בקישורים שסיפקתי!) זה מראה. הצפייה בומופיע חי מחשמלת עוד יותר. הוא נושא את הלפיד של מסורת חשובה של נגני כליזמר, ואני יודע שהמאמץ הזה - המאמץשלכם! יעזור לו להמשיך ולשתף אותנו במסורת, במוזיקה וברוח זו לאורך שנים רבות
