A Bigger Table
Donation protected
The Derryland family** have lived and worked in Lao PDR for more than six years and are committed to supporting this community. There has been a major loss in support to vulnerable people in Lao since USAID was dismantled, crippling development projects globally. The resulting gap in support is huge and we want to be part of the solution. Our goal is simple, we want to support vulnerable groups, particularly people with disabilities, through education, training, job creation and advocacy.
In order to accomplish this, we need to start a Non Profit Organization which will allow us to do fundraising, programming and other activities. This gofundme is designed to help us in our first steps of establishing an official non profit organization which will allow us to do fundraising and apply for grants and to begin the government approvals and initial steps for our first project in Lao.
A BIGGER TABLE
Our vision is to see a world where there is room for everyone at the table and sometimes that means that we need to build a bigger table. Building a bigger table means breaking down barriers for others to succeed, whether that is through advocacy, education, job creation, livelihood strengthening or direct care.
What will we do once we start our non profit?
Our first program is ambitious, tourism is on the rise and we want to include everyone on this journey. We want to pioneer the first boutique hotel in Laos designed for and staffed by people with disabilities. Our vision is to provide training, jobs and community to the marginalized and unseen. We would love for you to join us as we work to bring everyone to the table!!!!
