A new chapter for Jessie and Mint Home
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Keisha, and for 15 years, I built a business alongside my partner and friend, Jessie Shay. Back in 2009, we started from scratch with $50 each and taught ourselves how to revive mid-century pieces by hand. Sometimes, the results were disastrous, but over time, we honed the craft, and our vision turned our mutual love for sourcing and bringing back hidden gems into a thriving brand. Jessie was the creative juggernaut - curating finds for our store and crafting a brand. We would spend days sourcing and laughing, and I remember our first van, which was, she joked, held together with duct tape and bubble gum. I'll never forget Jessie sticking her body out of the window to manually work the wipers when it rained. We just laughed it off.
In 2024, I remarried and relocated, and Jessie and I parted ways in friendship. I sold her my half, knowing she would have the determination and force to keep it going. She poured everything into it, and all her tools, inventory, and pieces that she sold last week were all lost in fire. In short, Jessie has lost her livelihood overnight, and as a proud person who finds it hard to ask for help, she needs us now. I'm asking for your support to replace tools, cover refunds, and rebuild the dream we started together. Every dollar means the world.
UPDATE:
On behalf of Jessie, I want to say thank you to all of you - longtime customers and friends, neighbors, fellow small business owners, and the vintage dealer community. Everyone has stepped up in such an incredible way and we are very close to our goal. Every bit of kindness from sharing her story, words of affirmation, pledges of physical labor to help clean up, and your donations are bringing Jessie closer to getting back on her feet and more importantly, showing her that she is not alone. Thank you all so sincerely.
