Hi, everyone!

My name is Bobbie, and I have plans to take over my 178-year-old family home. My house was built in 1848. My great-grandparents moved in in the 1940s. Since then, the home has been passed on from generation to generation. It's now my turn to take over the home. When my parents moved into the house, it was barely livable, with holes in the ceiling and severe water damage in multiple rooms. They had to borrow against the equity of the house to repair it and make it the beautiful home I was raised in. It was never part of the plan (but always the hope of my dad) that I would be the next to take over the house. But a few years ago, my dad was forced to retire early and apply for disability. For anyone who has been through the system, they know that it can be a long process. My dad had several surgeries on his hips and back, and waited nearly 2 years to receive any income at all. In the meantime, he asked if I could move in to help pay for half of the house bills while my mom continued to work, an agreement that we still have today. Now that I've moved in, I have a 3-year-old son, and I'm excited to make the house my own. We have already done quite a bit of work on the home and are focusing our attention on renovating the upstairs portion. Once we're done with that, we will move on to the basement. All of the money donated to this fundraiser will be used to go into a fund for the mortgage so that my parents can finally retire, and the house can be put in my name.
