A New Car for Kim Springer
Donation protected
On July 11, 2023, Kimberly Springer became a victim of crime after a terrible car accident totaled her only means of transportation and left her hospitalized for nearly a month. She was on the way to the Third Presbyterian Church in East Westwood, Cincinnati, where she volunteers her time with the youth. On the way there, a car containing 2 alleged criminals ran a red light during a police chase. The alleged criminals were involved in a shooting that killed a 9-year-old girl. When they ran the red light, their car hit the front passenger side of Kimberly's car at 70-90 mph, leaving her car to spin in the middle of the intersection. The accident left her partially immobile for multiple months as the impact fractured her right leg. The car that hit her did not have insurance; therefore, she did not get aid from an outside party to help cover the totaled car and medical bills. Kimberly filled out an application for the Victims of Crime Compensation Program and was denied assistance. She currently does not have a paid job as she spends Monday-Friday volunteering at her church. She has been the secretary of East Westwood Improvement Association (Community Council) for 3 years and has been a volunteer at the Third Presbyterian Church for 7. All money collected will go towards a new (used) car for Kimberly. We thank you for donating and taking the time to read her story.
This fundraiser is organized by the members of Third Presbyterian Rec Center and Friends.
