A New Buddhist Forest Monastery in Italy

Help our sister non-profit organization, Empty Cloud Italia (www.emptyclouditalia.org), purchase a 135 acres forest in southern Italy, right outside Bari, to establish a Forest Monastery open to the training and practice of both bhikkhus and bhikkhunīs.

Part of the forest will be reserved area for the bhikkhus and bhikkhunīs, and the rest will be dedicated to the donation-based retreat center and a space for lay practitioners to come and nurture wholesome qualities in a peaceful, secluded environment.

The space features an underground system of caves that were a spiritual sacred site for millennia. Empty Cloud Italia plans to restore them for contemplative use.

We already have many local friends who have volunteered their skill sets to the project: engineers, architects, and archaeologists. All that is needed are the funds to secure the land!
