A New Life: Help Fund My Double Lung and Liver transplant!

Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,

My name is Lucas, and today I’m reaching out with both a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit.

I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF) at birth. Before I was even a day old, doctors discovered that my intestines were completely blocked and damaged due to complications from CF. Surgeons were forced to remove sections of my intestines, clean them out, and reconnect the healthy portions that remained. My first month of life was spent in the hospital fighting to survive. Along with the complications from CF, I was also diagnosed with RSV, making those early days incredibly critical.

Although many people saw me living what appeared to be a normal life growing up, the reality behind the scenes was very different. My daily routine consisted of breathing treatments, physical therapy, countless medications, and regular hospital visits just to maintain my health. Even with insurance, the cost of medications alone often exceeded $13,000 per month. Despite these challenges, I always tried to stay positive, remain active, and make the most out of every moment with my family and friends.

As I entered my twenties, complications from CF slowly began to worsen. New health problems continued to arise, and I learned to adapt the best I could. But over the past year, as I approach my 26th birthday, my health has rapidly declined. My lungs have become severely damaged, and my liver is now failing.

Simple things most people never think twice about — breathing, walking up stairs, getting through a normal day — have become exhausting and overwhelming challenges. Breathing is something we all take for granted until it becomes a struggle every single moment of the day. My quality of life has changed drastically, and the future has become uncertain.

After extensive testing and discussions with my medical team, I’ve been told that my best chance at survival is a double lung and liver transplant. This life-saving surgery represents hope — hope to breathe freely again, hope to regain my strength, and hope for a future I’ve been terrified I may never have the chance to experience.

Unfortunately, this transplant also comes with an overwhelming financial burden. The costs associated with the surgery, hospital stays, medications, travel, and long recovery process are unimaginable. While insurance is expected to help cover portions of the expenses, there will still be major costs left behind that my wife and I simply cannot manage alone.

Because of my declining health, my wife Angela is currently the sole provider for our household. She continues to work tirelessly while also helping care for me through appointments, treatments, and everyday challenges. Knowing the weight this places on her emotionally, physically, and financially is incredibly difficult.

This is why we are humbly asking for help.

Any donation — no matter the size — will go directly toward transplant-related expenses, medical bills, medications, travel costs, recovery needs, and helping relieve some of the financial stress during this incredibly difficult journey.

No donation is ever too small. Even something as little as $1 can make a meaningful difference when enough people come together. If this story were shared with 100,000 people and even half of them donated just a single dollar, we would completely surpass our goal. That’s the power of community, kindness, and people coming together to help someone in need.

We truly understand that times are hard for everyone right now, and we never take anyone’s generosity for granted. If you are unable to donate, that is completely okay. We simply ask that you share our story with others. Every share, prayer, kind word, and act of support helps more than you could ever know.

Your support gives us more than financial relief — it gives us hope. It reminds us that we are not fighting this battle alone.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and stand beside us during one of the hardest moments of our lives. I will continue fighting every single day for the chance to breathe easier, live fully, and spend more time with the people I love.

With your help, I truly believe I can make it through this.

With all our love and gratitude,
Lucas & Angela
