Staten Island Christian Church is a diverse community of people committed to loving God and others. We have served the Travis community located in Staten Island, New York for over 50 years. Our current pastor, Ysrael De La Cruz and his beautiful family, has faithfully served our church body and local community for the last 17 years. Below is a message from our pastor Ysrael and his wife Angela.

Over the past 25 years, the Lord has allowed Ysrael (“Papo”) and I to minister in many different seasons, and for the last 17 of those years, we’ve had the honor of serving in Staten Island—the “forgotten borough” of New York City. Ministry here has come with incredible joys but also many uphill battles, especially for small, independent churches like ours. The past few years have stretched us deeply, and COVID-19 only accelerated the pressures: transience, city/state regulations, and financial instability.

Still, by God’s grace and with a faithful remnant of believers, we press on.

Our church’s boiler - an aging, faithful workhorse - finally gave out on Palm Sunday. We had hoped to replace it later this year through fundraising, but it literally started “bleeding out,” and it’s officially beyond repair.

We now urgently need to raise between $16,000 and $20,000 for a full boiler replacement. These quotes are from last year, so costs may be higher now.
