Hopes For A New Lease On Life - A Prosthetic Leg Now Attached To Her Leg Bone Through Surgery.....
Keri Dyne needs our help ASAP. Surgery is currently scheduled for October 11th but only if she can come up with the funds.
ONLY A FEW WEEKS AWAY - URGENT
On August 28, 2017 Keri was in a major car accident shattering her right leg which has since been amputated. The story behind this amputation…
Keri had moved to Florida. Major construction was going on Highway I4 and some believe it is now rated one of the most dangerous roads in USA. Keri stated that she always rolled into work at around 10:30AM; because she could. She had been doing great working at Bank of America / Digitalrisk so they let her set her own schedule since she was extremely productive. On this day she popped out of bed nice and early and thought that she was going to make it to work and shock everyone and be there at 9AM. She usually took back roads but I4 would have sealed the deal for being there by 9AM because it was only two exits, about three miles. The construction crew had just stripped the roads thus making the traffic pattern a bit confusing for everyone. No differentiation between slow lanes, fast lanes and HOV lanes. She hit stop and go traffic until the cars in front of her slammed on the brakes causing a four-car pileup with hers being last. Keri slammed into a Box Truck that had a lift gate which pushed her engine block through the car and shattered her leg bracing for impact.
Surgery after surgery, infections upon more infections ending with the amputation of Keri’s right leg just above her knee.
The two years following this accident have become the worst two years of Keri’s life but now there is a “Light At The End Of The Tunnel” with a type of surgery that would implant a 3D Titanium Rod into her femur, then a post into the femur that her new prosthetic would attach to. A process called Osseointegration. It has been shown that the amputee now walks better, has less of a limp, their energy consumption during walking is improved and the comfort with the prosthesis is also improved. Now that the prosthetic is actually attached to the amputees bone and they can feel it, it’s a part of them and according to amputees that have had this surgery they have no longer felt any sort of pain while trying to walk with their prosthetic leg.
Her many surgeries already have her over $50k in debt and this surgery alone will cost at least $25k but she must come up with the money first before the surgery can even happen.
Keri, aka Dyn-O, has always been such a great person. She has always gone out of her way to help others, to befriends others and give herself wholeheartedly. There is nothing more than I think we would all want for Keri is to see her smile again and have that smile be REAL and her not in any more PAIN.
Any donation to help Keri would be very much appreciated. If you would like more information on this surgery, please click on the link below.
