Hello everyone, my name is Madisyn. Last year, I came across a colony of over 18 cats starving and dying by my house. Being as emotionally empath as I am, I took action as much as I could possibly do and asked for helped anywhere and everywhere. This was the start of my cat rescuing. Journey and kesler are 2 twin sisters from this colony. They were 2 of the 5 that were released out of the over 18. I was running our of room, no one would take them due to their age, and my resources for them were limited. I felt I was causing them too much stress keeping them in a trap. So I made the hard decision to let them go. I continued to feed and care for them like they were ny own cats. Journey and Kesler made their way to my porch after a series of situations. But they made it out together.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, Journey stops coming to eat. This is very unusual and we begin to get worried. Upon noticing, trail cameras were set up in the area. We were getting nothing. 2 weeks passed and there wasnt a single sign of her. And then she showed up. She showed up to come and eat at my porch and there, we saw her limping. We took immediate action. But Journey is smart, shes fast. Journey doesnt show up for 5 days following that day she ran off. We set traps endlessly everywhere, cameras perimetering the borders of the area like Hawks. We were getting nothing. And time was ticking. My ferals are going with me when I move in 3 months. It was already planned. Journey is suppose to come. I have a catio set up for them, a cat sanctuary for them to live in. I was going to get them medical work done and get them microchipped. Journey was going to go get a wellness check done and get her mats clipped off for the summer. And now I felt like everything was falling apart. It was all thanks to the resource of a drop trap that we managed to get Journey. She showed up last night, Jan 23rd, and went under the trap. And we got her. And she needs medical attention now. She's a sweet and smart girl. She deserves a way out of this life.
Journey saw the vet and it was said something caused an injury to her paw that caused an infection and is slowly killing her bone and leg off. Journey will need a full amputation of her back right leg and will live as an indoor cat for the rest of her life. Any donations is appreciated. Please.
