Support for the Mogle Siblings: A New Beginning with Leeann and Erich
Tragedy struck a few weeks ago, shaking the family and the entire community—leaving everyone asking the heartbreaking question: Why? Five-year-old Melissa “Missy” Mogle lost her life in a devastating case of abuse. Her mother and stepfather have since been charged with second-degree murder.
Missy’s three siblings—James, Letty, and Allen—have now been placed in the care of Leeann and Erich Messer.
Leeann has always had a loving and giving heart, and although she and Erich were unable to have children of their own, they never hesitated to open their home and hearts when it mattered most. Without question, they stepped up to take in James, Letty, and Allen—providing them with safety, comfort, and, most importantly, love.
Going from having no children to suddenly parenting three can be overwhelming and life-altering. Yet, Leeann and Erich didn’t ask why us—they simply said yes. Their selflessness and strength are an inspiration.
While their hearts are full, the sudden financial responsibility of raising three young children is immense. Diapers, clothing, food, daycare supplies—the needs are many.
My name is Vicky Ehling, and I’m Leeann’s mother. I’ve created this GoFundMe to support my daughter and son-in-law as they give these children the safe and loving home they deserve. Whether it’s through a donation or simply sharing this message, your support can make a real and lasting difference.
