Acyra Recovery Fund

If you've met Acyra, you know shes a TRUE  GEM! Acyra lives in New Haven and is working her ass off trying to become a doctor.  Acyra is a fiercely loving Black woman of trans experience who is doing the hard work of showing up for herself!This February Acyra will have a surgery she has been working towards for years and she will need our help with her recovery. Her insurance only pays for 7 days of recovery housing in the city where she needs to travel to for the surgery so we are looking to get her money to pay for a care giver, extra time in the city to recover, and support for when she returns to New Haven.

Budget 
-$250 a day for a caregiver - maybe 10 days total, plus text support while Acyra is in the hospital: $2500.

-train and return flight for the caregiver: $500

-compensating  rides and lyft rides: $280 (7 rides at $40 each)

-housing in city of surgery for 3 days (budgeting $100 a day/night, or maybe  a collective house or someone willing to host and receive that $) : $300

-groceries caregiver buys: $300

-take out for 10 days and a budget of $30 a day: $300

-misc. services like laundry or tips for cleaning and lyft services: $50

-misc. medical supplies: $70
