Hi my name is Nicole.
I want to raise money for the Cenote el Cielo at Cavelands.
Cavelands is situated in Quintana Roo, Mexico, with the most extensive underground rivers of fresh crystal waters. These sacred waters can be enjoyed in the cenotes, a typical sinkhole/cave, which is a holy place for the Mayan culture.
Cavelands is a sanctuary in the jungle of Chemuyil, where guests can stay at an ecological cabaña, enjoy the fresh crystal waters in Cenote el Cielo, and get to know the caverns. Cenote El Cielo is connected to the Cenote system of 52 km within Chemuyil.
Since last week, we have experienced a tragedy where drainage waters have contaminated Cenote el Cielo, which not only turned the water black but has killed over 150 fish and baby turtles who lived in these waters.
There is a water treatment center nearby, which is probably injecting this drainage water into the ground instead of treating the water, this is a big threat to the whole water system here, and we would like to avoid this problem spreading any further. In order to do so, we need to analyze the water several times, which costs 250 USD every time, get pumps involved and get a stop to the source asap before this affects our whole community of Chemuyil and we will be without any clean water.
We ask you to help us as we are the first victims of this disaster and want to save these waters; and would be so thankful for any donation you could give and will keep you updated on the process.
