A Multi Use Games Arena for the pupils of the DSL

Pupils, sports department and parent initiatives at the Deutsche Schule London (DSL) join forces and raise funds for a new MUGA (Multi Use Games Arena).

Post Covid, we have been putting more emphasis on sports and physical activity in general, as we recognise that many students have encountered physical and mental health issues due to the absence of physical education during the pandemic years.

A MUGA will allow us to offer our children a wider range of extracurricular activities, e.g., outdoor basketball, volleyball, 5-aside football, tennis etc. It will also allow us to reach out to the local community by offering local tournaments, friendly matches against other schools.

The cost of this project amounts to approximately £100K and we have pledged to raise this sum by means of a series of community activities. For example, we will be holding a charity run in September 2023 in which all children will participate. Proceeds from this summer’s school fair, themed "One Team, one Dream" will be dedicated to the enhancement of the school's sporting activities.
