A Move to Hawaii to Fulfill Dream Job
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Jeremy Dooms. I graduated with a BS in education for my major in Special Education from UNLV. I received a job offer at Leihoku Elementary School in Waianae, Hawaii and will be starting in August. The move is going to cost $13,000. This money will help pay to move myself there, my personal items, and my dogs. All of these expenses are not covered by the school district.
Education has been a passion and dream since I was a child. Teaching is incredibly important to me and this opportunity will place in me in an environment where I will thrive, be able to continue my education, and help a community in need of my expertise.
My future goal is to obtain my Masters in Speech Pathology and Doctorate in Special Education. Meeting this goal will allow me to become the teacher that I wish I had as a child; one that sets an example as a role model and creates an environment for growth and development.
Unfortunately, I don't have any guidance or assistance from my parents, as they both have passed away. My dad when I was 6 months old & my mom when I was 15 years old. The years since their passing has been extremely difficult but I have persevered. I am currently working back to back to jobs to try and save to make these dreams come true, but time is a factor; I only have until the end of July to make this move. I worked so hard to get to the point I am at, without any assistance. I know times are tough now for all of us and I know I am asking a lot, but any way you can help me would be greatly appreciated and not put to waste. Help me make the world a better place one person at a time.
Thank you so much.
