My name is Ella and this fundraiser is for my amazing little boy, Luke.

On 28th August, Lukes dad & I will be climbing Snowdon to raise awareness of Periventricular Leukomalacia (PVL) and to raise money for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Luke was diagnosed with PVL, a type of brain injury that affects the white matter of the brain. PVL can impact movement, communication, learning, vision and development, and every child’s journey with it is completely different.

Since Luke came into our lives, he has shown a strength and determination that amazes us every single day.

His journey has included countless appointments, therapies, assessments and challenges that most people never see.

Things many of us take for granted can be huge achievements for Luke but he continues to fight, grow and surprise us every day.

On 28th August, I’ll be climbing one mountain for Luke, but the truth is that Luke climbs mountains every single day.

PVL is a condition that deserves more awareness and understanding. I hope that by sharing Luke’s story, we can help more people learn about PVL and support other families on similar journeys.

All money raised will be donated to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, to help support the incredible work they do for children and families.
