A Motor for Steve, Shelby and Queenie Dog

Donation protected
My name is Candace and I’m raising funds to help Steve, Shelby and Queenie (their dog) get back on the road to Hendersonville, NC. I will include below my original Facebook posts that kind of explains everything :

8/ 19 - Y’all! I have had a homeless family on my heart all week. They are broken down in their van beside the dog park on Union St. I have passed by every morning on my way to work and their van is PACKED OUT and I know they are HOT! I finally went by there this morning and they have requested ice, water and dog food for their dog. I am getting that now along with some other non perishables. The guy mentioned that they are not from Spartanburg County and the Churches close by (in walking distance from them, I’m guessing) weren’t willing to help since they weren’t from within the county. I am coming to my FB friends to ask for HELP in getting their van back running. He said that they are broken down there and have until TOMORROW to have it towed elsewhere. He said the van is all they have. If you are willing to help them get back on their feet. They are in a blue van in front of the old bbq place right beside the dog park on Union St in Spartanburg.

8/19 UPDATE : I was able to stop by with cold water, ice, bottled water, dog food and McDonalds. Also, $100 from your donations!!!!!! They were so grateful and shocked. I asked them if I could post these pictures and he said, ”please do!” He says that he may be able to move across the road to Duncan Park if they forced them to move from where they are currently. They do have a phone so I am able to communicate with them.

8/20 ANOTHER UPDATE - We have gotten a mechanic out who has CONFIRMED it is the motor. The gentleman (Steve) is very upset and the lady is extremely sunburned (I have brought her some aloe). We need to get them out of this situation ASAP! We will be able to get pricing of motor, etc tomorrow. So, now the ULTIMATE NEED is money. They are currently at the O’Reillys on Southport Road. We will have a better idea of the cost tomorrow once I get it towed up the street to One Touch Auto Repair and hopefully find them somewhere decent to stay while it is being repaired.

8/21 UPDATE : We have gotten the family I have been posting about, Steve, Shelby and Queenie (their dog) in a hotel until Wednesday. We got word today that the motor itself (labor etc not included) would be $1800. We have raised around $1000 (hotel costs have come out of this) in donations so far. I am in the process of creating a GoFundMe. I think we will have the best luck with that. I ask that you all share and donate if at all possible so that we can get them back on the road ASAP. Thank you all!

PS Steve and Shelby are both so grateful for everything. Steve was in tears yesterday. I told him that I cannot believe he sat in that same spot for almost two weeks and no one stopped to help him. I’m sure he had about lost hope in humanity. I can only hope if I was in the situation, someone would help!
