5 days ago this family has had their life completely torn apart. What 6 year old Elijah would explain as a tummy ache changed life as they knew it. And it would change in a matter of 5 hours. Brooke, Elijah's mom took him to the e.r. and after tests and scans, she got the news her son's life would never be the same. She heard the words no mother should ever have to hear. Her son has cancer. And it is progressing fast. A tumor was found on his right kidney, and it had failed.
Tuesday, 5/26 Baby Elijah was taken into surgery to remove the kidney and tumor. But it took a turn for the worst. During surgery they discovered the tumor had spread and it was unsafe to remove either one. They did have to remove a part of his intestines, and close him back up.
Brooke is one of the strongest women I know. She is a mother of 6. And the sole provider for them all. She always makes sure her kids are safe and makes things happen for her family. She has been by Elijah's side every second he's been in the hospital. Which means she can't work. Any and all donations or even prayers are greatly appreciate. As of now, this will be the only way bills can be paid, kids can be taken care of, and food on the table.
They have a long road ahead of them. Elijah will be starting chemo, but isn't able for two weeks. Drs won't be able to get him back in surgery until the tumor has shrunk.
We will continue to pray over him and his family. And let God work his miracles. Updates will be posted as we get them from his medical team.
