Hi, my name is Ashley, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

A year ago, I was laid off, and my entire world turned upside down. I’ve been fighting depression while trying to stay strong for my daughter — my beautiful girl who is the reason I keep pushing through every single day. She depends on me for everything, and right now I feel like I’m failing her.

I’m trying so hard to hold everything together, but the bills are piling up… rent is past due… and I’m running out of options. I look at my daughter and all I want is to give her a safe home, a warm bed, and the comfort of knowing she’s cared for. She doesn’t deserve the fear or uncertainty that we’re facing right now.

As a mother, having to ask for help like this breaks my heart. But I am doing it for her. I’m swallowing my pride and reaching out because I refuse to let her lose the stability every child deserves.
