A Single Mother’s Plea: Help My Family Stay Together
Donation protected
It’s incredibly difficult for me to write this, but I’ve run out of options. As a mother, there’s no worse feeling than watching your family slip through your fingers—despite doing everything in your power to hold it all together.
In March 2023, I gave birth to my beautiful son, who was diagnosed with four different brain conditions. Since then, our lives have been a whirlwind of specialist visits and therapy—up to 12 hours a month—on top of the emotional weight that comes with watching your child fight battles most adults will never know. Then he had his first brain surgery Feb. 2025….
The Downward Spiral
In November 2023, I lost my job due to company-wide layoffs—just when we needed stability most. Despite applying to every opportunity I could find from November 2023 to May 2025, I remained unemployed. All the while, I was taking care of my children and managing my son's intensive medical needs.
We managed to get by—barely—through sheer determination, child support, and eventually, credit cards and personal loans. But in September 2024, the support for my daughters stopped completely after their father chose to walk away from his responsibilities and start a new family.
This year has been especially hard, as my oldest daughter Sarah is a senior in high school. I’ve done everything I can to make her final year special—she deserves that and so much more—but it’s come at a cost.
Where We Are Now
We’ve maxed out every credit card. We’ve used every form of assistance available. And now, we’re on the verge of eviction, facing the terrifying possibility of losing our home—and each other.
But there is a glimmer of hope. I finally started a new job on my daughter Addy’s 15th birthday. I’m working hard to rebuild, but without a stable home and internet, I risk losing even this opportunity.
I never imagined I’d be here—asking for help—but I am. We just need a little support to stay afloat, to keep our family together, and to move forward with hope.
Any amount helps. Every share helps. And from the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for being a part of our miracle.
With love and gratitude,
A struggling but hopeful single mother of three
