A Mother's Plea: Help Mary Jane and Her 7 Year Old Son

Hi everyone, my name is Laurel, and I'm reaching out to you with a plea for my dear friend, Mary Jane. We met back in high school, two awkward 16-year-olds who instantly clicked, 23 years later, she's not just my friend, she's my family. Mary Jane is a phenomenal mother to her 7-year-old son, but she's facing an incredibly difficult battle with ongoing medical issues that prevent her from working and, at times, from even being able to fully care for her son. It breaks my heart to see her struggle, and I know that with a little help, we can make a real difference in their lives. Mary Jane is facing an overwhelming battle with her health, making it impossible for her to work and provide for her family.

Mary Jane is bravely fighting a multitude of debilitating conditions. Mary Jane has just learned that she has been living with sickle cell anemia, a painful inherited blood disorder that causes red blood cells to become rigid and sickle-shaped. These misshapen cells can block blood flow, leading to severe pain, organ damage, and a constant struggle for energy. She also suffers from severe endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing excruciating pain and complications. To add to her burden, doctors have discovered additional endometrial tissue that may require future surgical intervention. On top of this, she also battles a chronically low red blood cell count, a brain cyst and a kidney cyst. These combined conditions create a constant cycle of pain, fatigue, and medical appointments, leaving her unable to maintain stable employment.

As a single mother, Mary Jane is solely responsible for providing for her son, Wolfe. Their financial situation has become dire, with mounting medical bills, rent, utilities, and the basic necessity of food becoming increasingly difficult to manage. To compound their hardship, her car, their only means of transportation, was recently repossessed. She needs $2500 to get it back. Without it, she is unable to pick her son up from school, run simple errands like grocery shopping, and get to her many doctor appointments.

Mary Jane is a devoted mother who wants nothing more than to provide a stable and loving environment for her son. But she cannot do it alone.
