I am looking to raise funds to help my current nanny obtain an attorney and fight for full custody of her 6 year old daughter. She has been taken advantage of, lied to and misguided from the very beginning of her daughter's life and I honestly cannot stand by and watch any longer. I will be contributing everything that I can financially however, I am limited based on my own family's needs. I know that she is a great mother as I have seen her in action and trust her with my children on a daily basis. Please consider helping a mom out. This baby girl deserves to have her mommy back in her life.

A little back story from my nanny's point of view:

Her father has recently filed for a motion to modify our current custody arrangements based on the fact that I was in a relationship with a man that he did not approve of, for no other reason aside from what I can assume to be plain jealously from me moving onto another relationship.

Her father and I have a long and complicated past and have been separated since my daughter was just 1 year old. He was 27 years old when we began our relationship and I was only 17 years old. The relationship was tumultuous and abusive from the very beginning. Things got extremely ugly and authorities have been involved numerous times. The final straw was him putting his hands on me with my toddler in his arms. Ever since splitting from him and moving on with my life, I feel as though I am being punished by him every chance he gets and he does so through my daughter. Through naivety, inexperience, and less than ideal financial circumstances, I have followed poor/free legal advice as well as rushed to agreeing to past agreements in order to save money on my end, as legal counsel is not cheap. He has more money than me and a lot more connections in this area which I also feel has played a part in the courts decisions.

Currently, I have not had not been allowed to have contact with my daughter in over a month based on a Temporary Restraining Order that was filed based on lies about my drug use and the fact that I lived with the man that her father did not approve of. Keep in mind, I have passed multiple drug tests for the courts in the past (urine and hair follicle) and he has failed for marijuana once but was able to pass it off as his use of CBD products. However, I have not been served and I am dreading showing up to court without an attorney to defend me based on how things have always favored him in the past. I am not sure what my daughter has been told or if she knows why mommy has not come to see her or call to check on her. I have found an attorney who is willing to take my case and go to bat for me to get things back on track and at least remain with 50/50 custody of my baby girl.

I am currently in a shelter and saving for a place of my own in order to appease my daughter's father and the courts and give myself the best chance at proving myself to be the best mom that I know I am. Doing that and paying an attorney to cover almost 6 years of leg work (which is why my retainer is so high) has proven to be daunting and what feels like impossible. I am a great mom and I love my daughter more than life. I sincerely feel like this is my absolute best shot at keeping custody of her. Please consider contributing, even if it's just 1 dollar.
