Dear the many kind souls reading this message,
My name is Asmaa Al-Ashqar,
I am a mother of two young children. My husband is unable to work, and our life has become unbearably difficult. We are living through war, hunger, and displacement—fighting to survive every single day.
We fled our home in search of safety, but what we found was even harsher. We are now strangers in a place that offers no comfort, no stability, and barely enough food to keep us alive.
Every morning, my children ask me, “Mama, what will we eat today?” And I have no answer. Not because I don’t want to provide, but because I have nothing left to give. Even bread has become a dream, and milk a luxury we can’t afford.
I write these words with a heart full of pain—not because I am weak, but because I am exhausted. Exhausted from the fear, the hunger, and the helplessness of watching my children grow up in a world that feels nothing like life.
All I ask for is a chance. A chance to live with dignity, to see my children smile without fear, to sleep without hunger. If these words reach someone with a heart that still feels, I hope they will hear us.
