A mother's love lost to suicide.

Hi! My name is Sara Stephenson. I am starting this GoFundMe to help my brother, Jake Terry and his young family cope with the tragic loss of his partner, Kit.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the sudden and devastating loss of Kit Fuentebella to suicide on April 12th, 2023. She was only 35 years old. She leaves behind my brother, Jake Terry, and their 4 young children; Nora 8, Verenna 6, and twins Martin and Nolan 20 months, along with her mother, Cindy, and two adult brothers Ben and Steve.

One of Kit's most extraordinary gifts was her capacity to give love even in the face of tremendous personal pain and suffering. Her unwavering love will be felt and cherished forever.

Kit was a badass chick with her bike! Her ability to make things happen with just her beloved cargo bike was beyond impressive! Most people would see this means of transportation to be limiting and impossible… but not Kit. Whether it be taking her 2 older kids plus 2 paddle boards to the beach or taking them camping loaded with all their gear many many miles away, she did it all with just her bike! On her bike, she felt complete control and freedom.

Kit was the primary breadwinner for her family as a 911 Dispatcher, while Jake stayed home to care for their kids. I know they are going to have a long challenging road ahead coping with the new reality of life without their mother's love. Through this page, I'm hoping to help ease the financial burdens that lay ahead for my brother and their 4 young children. All the funds raised will go directly towards; funeral costs, mortgage payments, estate lawyer fees, counseling, and immediate living expenses.

I am also hoping to bring light to the suicide epidemic - such a permanent decision often made because of a temporary problem, has a lifelong devastating ripple effect on the loved ones left behind. For anyone who needs to hear this please know you are not alone, you are loved, and don't be afraid to ask for help. There is always hope and brighter days ahead.
