A Mother's Love, A Son's Future

My name is Perla. I’m writing on behalf of my beloved sister Astrid and her son Carlos. On Sunday, July 13th, Astrid passed away at Big Bradley Falls. My sister was my life; we are absolutely lost without her. The middle child in our family, Astrid was adventurous and full of spirit. She loved road trips and took any opportunity to sight-see and explore. She never asked for help and always fought as hard as she could to provide the best life for Carlos. He was her world. Astrid was a fighter to the very end. She was strong in her faith and lived her life by those principles.

Astrid was born in Honduras, and that is where we want to lay her to rest. We are also hoping to raise money for Carlos. He is eleven years old and misses his mother dearly. We hope to provide him with the future that he deserves, the future that Astrid worked so hard to give him.

Mi nombre es Perla, y escribo en nombre de mi querida hermana Astrid y su hijo Carlos. El domingo 13 de julio, Astrid falleció en Big Bradley Falls. Mi hermana era mi vida; estamos absolutamente perdidos sin ella.

Astrid, la hija del medio en nuestra familia, era aventurera y llena de espíritu. Le encantaban los viajes por carretera y aprovechaba cualquier oportunidad para hacer turismo y explorar. Nunca pedía ayuda y siempre luchó con todas sus fuerzas para brindarle la mejor vida posible a Carlos. Él era su mundo. Astrid fue una luchadora hasta el final. Tenía una fe muy fuerte y vivía de acuerdo con esos principios.

Astrid nació en Honduras, y es allí donde queremos darle descanso eterno. También esperamos recaudar fondos para Carlos. Tiene once años y extraña profundamente a su mamá. Queremos ayudarle a tener el futuro que se merece, el futuro que Astrid luchó tanto por darle.
