My name is Jessica, and I’m fighting every day to take my life back from Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
One day I was healthy, and the next, I lost the ability to move or walk, This illness has taken so much from me—my independence, my strength, and in many ways, the life I used to know. But what it hasn’t taken is my hope.
I dream every single day of walking again. Of being able to play with my children, take care of my family, and live life without needing help for even the simplest things. But recovery is a long road, and it comes with challenges that go far beyond the physical.
My husband has become my full-time caregiver while also trying to work small jobs to support our kids and me. He is truly my rock, but it hasn’t been easy. The medical bills, therapy costs, and basic expenses of raising a family are more than we can handle right now.
My insurance only covered 35 physical therapy sessions. I’ve completed them, but my body still needs so much more. Each additional session is $100, and out-of-pocket that feels impossible for us.
Some of my medications are only partially covered, leaving us to pay the rest.
Every day, the bills pile higher, and the stress grows heavier.
My mom has been such a blessing, but she isn’t physically able to help with transfers or the more difficult parts of my care. That’s why everything falls on my husband—caring for me 24/7, and making sure our kids are okay. We are doing our very best, but the truth is—we need help.
I don’t like asking. But I believe in miracles, and I believe God works through people. That’s why I’m here, humbly asking for your support.
If you can donate, please know that no amount is too small. Even $1 brings us closer to another therapy session, another step forward, another chance at recovery.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page means just as much—it helps us reach more hearts willing to lift us up in prayer and support.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story, for sharing, for donating, and for believing in me. With your help, I can keep fighting for my recovery and, God willing, one day walk again.
