A Mother's Heartbreak: Donnell's Tragic End

Hello, my name is Tawanda Staten, the mother of Donnell Jones. My 17-year-old son was killed on Easter Sunday around 3 a.m. due to gun violence. My son was a high school senior at Milwaukee Lutheran, playing running back.

Three weeks from now would have been his high school graduation, then off to college this fall at Northern Illinois University. My Chunky, that is his nickname I gave him since birth, never bothered nobody. Always about family, very smart, well-respected kid, loved playing video games and playing sports (basketball and football).

I'm asking for any kind of help to bury my son. This is a hurtful feeling that no parent should have to endure. I just want to put my son away the best way I know how.

So if you can, from the bottom of your heart, make any kind of donation so I can prepare my son's homegoing. It would be so appropriate.
