On 5th of November, tragedy struck my family in the Philippines when my sister-in-law, Frances Angela Garilao-Pecson, lost her life in a flash flood that hit their community in Canlaon City, Negros Occidental.
As the floodwaters rose, Angela did everything she could to protect her 2-month-old baby. In her final act of love and courage, she managed to keep her baby safe—but sadly, she was swept away by the strong current and did not survive.
Our family is heartbroken. She was a loving wife to my brother, Jasper, and a devoted new mother who only wanted to give her child a good life. Now, my brother is left to raise their baby alone while trying to recover from the loss of his wife and the devastation caused by the flood.
I am creating this GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses, provide for their baby’s needs, and support my brother and my sister in law’s family as they rebuild their life after this unimaginable tragedy. Any amount, no matter how small, will mean so much to our family during this painful time.
If you can’t give financially, please help us by sharing this page or keeping our family in your prayers.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for your kindness, compassion, and prayers.
Every bit of help brings hope and light to our grieving family.
With gratitude,
Joniah
