A Mother's Fight: Our Plea for Help

Dearest Friends and Family,

I'm writing to you today with a heavy heart, sharing news that has shaken our family to its core. Our beloved mother, Margery, has recently been diagnosed with gastric/stomach cancer (adenocarcinoma). What we initially dismissed as persistent acid reflux and gallstones quickly escalated into this devastating diagnosis, turning our world upside down in an instant.

This past period has been a blur of doctors' visits, tests, and agonizing uncertainty. Our Mama, who has always been our rock and source of support, is now facing the fight of her life. The thought of her enduring this battle is unbearable, and as her children, our greatest wish is to give her every possible chance to reclaim her health.

To give Mama the fighting chance she deserves, she will need to undergo extensive procedures, critical tests, and a rigorous course of medication and chemotherapy. The financial burden of this treatment is immense, with costs estimated at millions. This amount will cover the essential care and support needed to navigate this incredibly challenging journey.

Mama means the world to my brother and me. She has poured her love, strength, and unwavering support into our lives, and now it's our turn to stand by her. We are humbly reaching out to you, our dearest friends and family, to ask for your generous support.

She is currently being treated at the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center - CGHMC in Metro Manila, Philippines. As she is already 74 years old, she no longer qualifies for health insurance. Her hospital bills are already piling up and we do not want to abandon her treatment due to cost.

To successfully fight this deadly disease, mama will have to endure 8 cycles of chemotherapy and a gastrectomy. Each chemotherapy session will cost an average of $2,000cad / Php 80,000 ( incl. meds, use of facility, doctor's fee, lab tests). The surgery to remove the tumor and part of the stomach will cost about $25,000cad /Php 1,000,000. This estimate is bases on cost of operation room, doctors' fees- surgeon, oncologist, anesthesiologist etc., lab tests, private room stay for at least 10 days.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will directly help us build the "war chest" needed for Mama's treatment. Your kindness and generosity will not only alleviate a significant financial strain but, more importantly, will extend Mama's life and give her the opportunity to spend more precious moments with those who love her dearly.
