A Mother’s Fight: Leukemia and Hardship

This is one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. I am a very proud and private person, yet I am humble and thankful enough to know that without God, nothing would be possible.

Last year, I was diagnosed with leukemia. At first, I was in disbelief. I tried hiding it from my children; I have four! Then we lost our home to Hurricane Helene in Florida. Things went downhill quickly after that. Between the stress of us being in a hotel for 6 months and the cancer treatment, my health has declined quickly. I am now on oxygen support 24/7. Multiple hospitalizations, kidney failure, heart failure, and a pulmonary embolism. Every time I think I am getting my family into a better situation, something else happens. Through everything, I was able to secure us a new home. Then 5 days later I ended up in the hospital again. At this point, I am praying for a miracle.

For the ones who know me, know I am a great mother. The first one to help a stranger. I pride myself on how I take care of my family and how I treat others. Those that know me also know I have no family, no support, no village. And that’s depressing in itself.

I am hoping to raise enough money to catch us up on bills that got behind due to my recent hospitalization and to buy or rent an electric portable oxygen machine to use whenever I have to go anywhere.

I truly thank you for reading about my family and our needs. Anything will help, and if you can’t donate, please share this post.
