My name is Munya Mohammed Abdullah Al-Saddoudi, and I am a mother from Gaza a mother who once had a home, a family, and a future filled with hope. Before the war, our life was humble but beautiful. My husband worked at a small barbershop, and each day he returned with tired hands and a gentle smile. Our three children ran through the house, laughing, playing, dreaming. I used to prepare meals with love, clean our little home with care, and tuck my children in at night, knowing they were safe.
Then, without warning, the war came and turned our lives into ashes.
A single airstrike erased our home. The barbershop was destroyed. My dear brother, my anchor, my strength was killed under falling rubble. Now I live in a torn tent, exposed to the freezing winds and blistering heat, holding my three children close as they cry from hunger, fear, and pain. We sleep on the bare ground. We wake up coughing from dust and sickness. There is no food. No clean water. No medicine. Prices for basic things flour, baby milk, diapers are beyond impossible. People are dying from starvation, not just bombs. Children waste away from illness. Mothers give birth in blood-soaked tents. I try to stay strong, but inside, I am shattered.
I know some of you may feel the pain through this screen you may feel the sadness, the shock, even the anger. But what about us? What about our children? The innocent ones who’ve never known peace? What if it were your child crying for bread? Your sister giving birth in a shelter? Your mother buried under rubble? Please don’t let this just be a sad story you scroll past. Put yourself in our place. Feel it. Let it move you not just to tears, but to action.
We are human beings, just like you. We feel joy, we feel grief, we love, we hope and now, we suffer. We are not asking for comfort. We are begging for survival. Your help, no matter how small, can be a lifeline: food for a starving child, warmth for a freezing baby, a blanket of hope in this cold world. Share our story. Speak our names. Show the world that kindness still exists. Let your mercy rise above the silence.
