My name is Joan (Jay) Mendez, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my mother-in-law, who is currently battling cancer in Venezuela. She is a loving mother, grandmother, and an incredibly strong woman who has always put her family first. Today, she is facing one of the hardest fights of her life.

Due to the situation in Venezuela, access to proper medical care is extremely limited and very expensive. She urgently needs additional tests, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments, but the costs are far beyond what our family can afford on our own. We are doing everything we can from here, but the reality is that we simply cannot keep up with the medical expenses needed to give her a real chance. This has been especially painful for my wife, who is watching her mother go through this from a distance. Not being able to be there, hug her, or even have her meet her granddaughter during this time has been incredibly heartbreaking.
