A Mother’s Cancer Fight- Carmen’s story

In March of 2019, our dear sister-in-law  was seen in the emergency room due to excruciating pain.  After several expensive medical tests and three painful biopsies, she was found to have Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.  Carmen is one of the kindest, strongest, and most loving persons we have come to know. She has always been a strong woman who has faced many obstacles in her life, and has always put others before herself.  A devout Christian who has stood as the beacon of her family, raising two sons and now raising her beautiful and intelligent thirteen-year-old granddaughter Briana, who relies on Carmen and her uncle to navigate her teen years.  

Carmen is in the fight of her life.  Her goal is to see Briana graduate high school,  and beyond what life may bring.  As a result of her medical test and chemotherapy treatments, she is unable to work.   This  has impacted her ability to afford housing, food, and medical bills.  Our nephew Josue, an Iraq War veteran has stood by her side helping with bills, cooking for his mother, and taking care of his niece Briana.   With the cost of healthcare deductibles, co-pays, pain medication, and loss of wages her financial situation is dire.

Carmen, you are loved and you are not alone. We are asking for friends, family, and her Christian community to unite and contribute to support Carmen in her fight.  If you are unable to donate financially, we ask that you say a special prayer for Carmen, that her body finds the strength to win this battle.
