Life and the pandemic have been tough for this hard-working mother and her adult son. Mahin was a former teacher who came to the US, worked multiple jobs, and raised her son. Her son attended UC Berkeley, where he earned his Architecture degree. But shortly after graduating, he contracted an unknown disease while traveling to Africa as part of his studies and has suffered for almost five years. The medicines are often experimental, expensive, and not covered by insurance. Unfortunately, her son's health is not getting any better. Mahin's son requires more treatment, and the money runs out, especially when the pandemic hit and Mahin lose her income. She has found herself in financial hardships that is almost impossible to support herself and her son's medical bills and treatment.

 

These funds will go immediately to pay for the medical bills, treatments, and laboratory needs, which are not covered by insurance. Additionally, the goal is to give Mahin and her son the breathing room necessary to support their medical and other financial needs. To keep life afloat and move forward while trying to determine her son's health.
