I am another mother this system has failed! My son while in the care of Pendleton Correctional Facility, lost his life! He was in the hospital on life support for 24 HRS before they notified me! Just Days Later I was FORCED to remove MY son from life support! They said the decision was up to the warden??? The warden whom filed a paper to give him that authority! In the meantime, I have left messages for the warden, the chief warden, and the investigating department! I have reached out to the Indiana state police post located across the street from Pendleton correctional facility, still no one will so much as pick up the phone! Then they refuse to release the cause of death for 6-8 weeks when the toxicology report comes back! This CANNOT BE LEGAL!!! This NIGHTMARE started on the 28th of September, and as of October 8th while I type this message I have yet to receive, so much as a phone call from Pendleton Correctional Facility! So I sit and wait until when??? I’m asking for help! I need ANSWERS! If u or someone u know has been in a similar situation and has any advice as to what steps to take or who I can reach out to please contact me! I would like to get my own independent autopsy and just be able to find some connections! As I type this I realize that this is not just my story but so many others who look like my son, so this is why I’m sharing my story! I know someone out there will be able to help me in which direction to go! I’m typing this in hopes I will get answers! I Need Help!
