Hello, my name is Aura, I’m 39 years old, and I currently live in the state of Washington, USA. I am a proud mother of two wonderful daughters, ages 15 and 19. Although my roots are in Colombia, I now find myself alone in this country, fighting for the well-being of my daughters and my two grandmothers, who are seriously ill and require constant care.

For years, I have struggled with recurring health issues that initially seemed like simple urinary infections treated with antibiotics. However, about a month and a half ago, my body gave me a serious warning: a sharp pain while sneezing left me paralyzed from the waist down on my right side. I couldn’t walk on my own and ended up hospitalized for 15 days.

Doctors discovered that my kidney was in very poor condition. I’ve already undergone two surgeries, and I currently have a nephrostomy tube to try to save the affected kidney. I’m now on medical leave for at least 7 weeks, on a strict diet, unable to do physical work, and waiting for a third surgery that will determine whether my kidney can be saved.

Despite the pain, I try to do delivery work when my body allows, but I can’t sit or stand for long periods. My situation is even more challenging due to a car accident last year that left me with lower back injuries, making my recovery even harder.

In addition to my daughters, I also support my grandmothers from a distance. They both require frequent medical care. One of them needs special wound cleaning on her legs four times a week due to complications from obesity. Every day, I do my best to remain the pillar of my family, covering school expenses for my daughters, medical appointments, treatments, transportation, and food.

Today, I need your help. I have always been someone who helps others, but today, with my heart in my hand, I need to ask for support. I’m going through a very difficult time, with no family nearby to help during my recovery, and ongoing medical and family expenses that I cannot cover alone.

Hola, mi nombre es Aura, tengo 39 años y actualmente vivo en el estado de Washington, Estados Unidos. Soy mamá de dos hijas maravillosas, de 15 y 19 años. Aunque mis raíces están en Colombia, hoy me encuentro sola en este país, luchando por el bienestar de mis hijas y de mis dos abuelitas, quienes se encuentran gravemente enfermas y requieren cuidados constantes.

Desde hace años he venido enfrentando problemas de salud que, al principio, parecían simples infecciones urinarias tratables con antibióticos. Sin embargo, hace mes y medio, mi cuerpo me dio una señal de alarma: un fuerte dolor al estornudar me dejó paralizada de la cintura hacia abajo, en el lado derecho. No podía caminar por mi cuenta y terminé hospitalizada durante 15 días.

Los médicos descubrieron que mi riñón estaba en muy mal estado. He sido sometida a dos cirugías, y actualmente tengo un tubo de nefrostomía para intentar salvar el riñón afectado. Estoy bajo una incapacidad médica de al menos 7 semanas, con una dieta especial, sin poder hacer esfuerzo físico, y a la espera de una tercera cirugía que determinará si podré conservar el riñón.

A pesar del dolor, intento trabajar haciendo entregas cuando el cuerpo me lo permite, pero no puedo permanecer sentada o de pie por mucho tiempo. Mi situación se complica aún más, ya que el año pasado sufrí un accidente automovilístico que dejó secuelas en mi espalda baja, haciendo mi recuperación aún más difícil.

Además de mis hijas, también cuido a mis abuelas a la distancia, quienes requieren tratamientos médicos frecuentes. Una de ellas necesita limpiezas especiales en sus piernas cuatro veces por semana debido a complicaciones por sobrepeso. A diario lucho para seguir siendo el pilar de mi familia, cubriendo estudios, citas médicas, tratamientos, transporte y alimentación.

Hoy necesito ayuda. Siempre he sido de las personas que ayudan a los demás, pero hoy, con el corazón en la mano, debo pedir apoyo. Estoy atravesando una etapa muy dura, sin familiares cerca que puedan asistirme en mi recuperación, y con gastos médicos y responsabilidades que no se detienen.

Por eso, he creado este espacio para pedirte, si está en tus posibilidades, que me apoyes con una donación. Cada aporte, por pequeño que parezca, hace una gran diferencia. Tu ayuda me permitirá cubrir medicamentos, citas médicas, tratamientos postoperatorios, y seguir brindando a mis hijas y a mis abuelitas el cuidado que necesitan.

Con fe y esperanza, confío en que podré salir adelante, recuperarme y volver a trabajar el próximo año, si Dios lo permite.
