Hello everyone thanks for taking a moment to read my request. The following was written by my godmother as I am currently less than 24 hours post surgery
Amy is one of the strongest women we know—a devoted mother of five boys, a fighter, and someone who has faced unimaginable challenges with courage and grace.
After a life-altering spinal injury left her paralyzed from the chest down, Amy has continued to show up for her family every single day. Recently, she underwent major surgery to remove the metal hardware from her spine—hardware that had been causing her constant, severe pain. While this surgery will not restore movement, it brings hope for a better quality of life, free from that relentless ache.
Unfortunately, her insurance does not cover this critical procedure, leaving Amy and her family facing overwhelming medical expenses during an already difficult time.
Your support will go far beyond surgery recovery—it will help Amy access critical resources that insurance and Medicaid simply do not cover.
Funds raised will go toward specialized mobility equipment, including a walker compatible with her KAFO braces, a proper bowel care chair essential for daily living, and other adaptive medical supplies that allow her to function safely and with dignity at home.
Additionally, Amy is working toward receiving stem cell therapy treatments, which offer hope for improved function and quality of life. These treatments cost nearly $10,000 each and are not covered by insurance, placing them far out of reach without support.
Every dollar will help ease the daily physical and financial burden Amy carries, giving her more strength to focus on healing and being present for her five boys.
Amy is not just a patient —she is a mother raising four boys at home, while also supporting her son who is working hard on a full scholarship in Florida. Her strength fuels her family, but right now, she needs a community to help carry some of this weight.
