On November 27, 2022 Nick died in the line of duty while responding to assist with an emergency call.

In honor of Nick, and to raise money to have a monument placed at Penn Hills EMS Paramedic Brian Dankis will be cycling from Penn Hills to Washington D.C. The ride will take place from July 20th to July 22nd and will be approximately 350 miles. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, the union for the Penn Hills Paramedics/EMT's (Penn Hills Professional Association of Paramedics, IAFF Local 5167) will be matching the contributions made dollar for dollar, up to $7500.
