This fundraiser has been established for my father Olzvoi Choijilsuren.

My name is Munkhnaran and I’m the daughter of Olzvoi Choijilsuren who has been suffering from Liver Cancer since 2015 and in an urgent need for a Liver Transplantation. In our country Mongolia, we have the world’s highest rate of liver cancer mortality – six times the global average due to high rates of Hepatitis B and C infection and sadly, my father was no exception. We are a family of 7 and as you can imagine, our world has turned upside down from the day he got diagnosed with this disease.

Mongolia has started doing a Living Donor Liver Transplantation since 2011 but limited to perform the transplantation surgery on 10 patients per calendar year and by the time he gets on the list, he won’t be qualified to get the surgery based on Liver Transplantation criteria.

Most of the medical expenses are not covered by insurance in our country. Also, due to lack of medical and diagnostic equipments in Mongolia, my family has been traveling to Korea back and forth for the past few years for my father’s diagnostic tests and treatments.

The cost of medical expenses for the past put us well out of the reach to get the most important treatment he needs right now. Unfortunately, due to the limited access for receiving a Liver Transplantation in Mongolia, now we are facing to seek the treatment in Korea where the surgery costs around $140,000 - $170,000. This fundraiser has been established to help offset some of the expenses for my family and your generous donations will go towards my father’s and donor’s surgeries, recovery and follow up care. My father has been in the agricultural industry since I can remember and has given so much to others whenever he can. With your help, he would have a chance to see his grandkids grow up and get to spend more time with us.
