A MONDAY NIGHT IN MIDDLESBROUGH 2026

Since late 2022, Industrial Coast, a small independent cassette label based in Middlesbrough, has been hosting experimental sound shows across town, with the aim of making Boro the UK centre for sound exploration.

Since 2023 we have been fortunate enough to receive Arts Council England funding, which has helped us to promote over 75 events, bringing amazing UK & International talent to the area. The supporting bill for these artists have been, in the main, local talent across multiple genres (sound, visual arts, dance/body movement, spoken word). We have built a wonderful community around our shows, where a warm welcome is always guaranteed and friendships and creative bonds flourish.

In order to make our 2026 funding bid (which we will submit late summer '25) as robust as possible, we are looking to raise funds to include in the bid as 'in kind' contributions - hopefully demonstrating the incredible support behind our project.

To that end, I will be performing a 24hr 'Selector' set on Sunday August 10. The event will run from 00.00am to 24.00pm....and whilst we may have 2 or 3 'guests' for an hour or so each, I will be at the turntable all day! An Iron Man challenge!

I stress - its a 'selector' set. A single deck...I do not mix! Vinyl only, genres covered will be noise (and the variations therein), Industrial, Ambient, Drone, Techno, Hardcore....and whatever I feel like playing to be honest!

From the hours of 00.00 to 10am, it will be closed door, invite only. We will then be open to the public from 10.00am for the rest of the day. Proposed venue is Cafe Etch, Gilkes St, Middlesbrough (subject to event license approval).

Mozzenjammer will be on hand to document the event for prosperity - & hopefully do a little live streaming.

All funds raised will go directly to funding 2026 events. They will be included as in-kind contributions for our 2026 ACE bid which we hope very much will be succesful. Should it not be approved, funds raised will ensure our program does continue in some shape our form.

We've built something special these past 2-3 years, & we are doing everything in our power to ensure the program continues and we can leave a lasting legacy in town, for others to benefit from as we move forward.

Thank you
Steve
