This April, Kinley (14) has the opportunity to travel with Valor Preparatory Academy in Waco on a school trip to Washington, D.C., where she'll step directly into the story of our nation. She'll walk through the National Archives, stand face-to-face with the Declaration of Independence, explore the Capitol, and visit the memorials that honor sacrifice, leadership, and freedom.

We like to imagine this trip as her own "National Treasure" mission - following the trail of history not to steal the Declaration, but to understand it and protect its meaning. And who knows? Washington, D.C. is full of secrets hidden in plain sight. The real hidden treasure she may find won't be gold or jewels, but inspiration, perspective, and a deeper appreciation for what it means to be an American.

The cost of the trip is $2000, which covers travel, lodging, meals, and educational programming. We're hoping to raise these funds so finances don't get in the way of an experience that could shape how she sees her country and her future.
