A Mission of Hope in New York City

Hi, my name is Isabella Hunter. I am a senior in high school. I would like to share a bit of my experience with God over the past couple years. I made the decision to give my life to the Lord in June 2023, it was the best decision I have ever made. Ever since then, I have built my life upon the teachings of God and live by His Word. My life has changed tremendously because of that. I am thrilled to share an incredible opportunity God has placed on my heart: I have been called to serve on a mission trip to New York City! Our team’s main mission is to spread the Gospel, make disciples of Jesus, and share God’s love with the people of NYC. This trip is not just about serving—it’s about answering God’s call to help others and teach them about His saving grace.

While in New York, our team will primarily be working with Covenant Mercy Ministry in the Chelsea neighborhood. We will assist with their food pantry and church services, which are held for several multilingual groups. We will also pick up donated food from Trader Joe’s locations around the city, then sort, prep, pack, and distribute it to individuals and families in need.

This mission trip is deeply personal for me because I have been so focused on what my purpose is for the future that I haven’t been focusing on what the Lord has for my life in the present. I feel God has placed a strong desire in my heart to serve others and share His Word. I believe He is calling me to step out in faith and be His hands and feet in a city full of people who need to know His love.

More than anything at all, I ask for your prayers—for our team, for the preparations leading up to this trip, and for God to move mightily in the lives of the people we meet. Please pray that we would be bold in sharing the Gospel, that hearts would be open to receiving His truth, and that God would reveal Himself in powerful ways throughout our time in New York.
