A Miracle for Sam: Help the Baxter Family
Donation protected
In the blink of an eye, everything can change. Right now, my best friends, Hannah and Timothy Baxter, are walking through a parent’s worst nightmare. Their precious 15 month old baby, Samuel, is in the hospital, facing a battle for his life.
On Monday night, Hannah and Tim rushed Sam to the ER after he began having difficulty breathing. What followed was a whirlwind of doctors, tests, and ultimately, an urgent transfer to Seattle Children’s Hospital for critical care. Sam quickly deteriorated to the point where he could no longer breathe on his own and had to be intubated and placed on an ECMO machine. Unfortunately, there were complications, during which his pulse was lost several times before getting him back, and Sam was rushed into emergency heart surgery to stabilize him. It was a terrifying experience, but Sam proved just how strong he is by fighting through it.
Sam is currently stable, but still in critical condition, and remains in the Cardiac ICU, where a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and specialists are closely monitoring his progress. His journey to recovery will be long, and he will need several weeks in the hospital before he’s strong enough to go home. Throughout this challenging time, Hannah and Tim are staying by Sam's side, but they’re also juggling the needs of their 3-year-old daughter, who is staying with her grandparents, as well as preparing for the arrival of their third baby later this year.
With mounting travel expenses, time away from work, and the overwhelming weight of everything they’re facing, Hannah and Tim are carrying so much right now. They would never ask for help—because that’s just who they are. But in this moment, they need our support more than ever, which is why I’m reaching out to all of you.
Hannah and Tim are the kind of people who show up for everyone. They live with a Christlike love, always giving, always serving. If you’ve met them, you know—they’d give the shirt off their backs for a friend in need. Now, it’s our turn to show up for them.
Right now, the most important thing is that Hannah and Tim can be with Sam—without the added stress of worrying about bills, travel, or lost income. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly to supporting them during this journey. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser and praying for them means the world.
