The miracle I am searching for is a summer buffer for an ongoing foreclosure. I am a single mother disabled by public sector accounting. I have been unable to find work and subsequently the last 5 months of going underwater have resulted in foreclosure on the only home my son remembers living in, debt suits against me, and many disappointments as it appears I will never be able to get my Calpers disability back, be employed in finance (my degrees became worthless alongside my debt growth), or escape a second mortgage that was obtained when I was completely disabled and has foreclosed on me twice (2023 and 2026).
Funds raised go towards either paying off the fees to sell our own home for equity (I'm so heartbroken typing that but its now best case scenario) or obtaining a rental which will require multiple months prepayment as I never achieved a divorce, freedom from these debts, or settlement for my grievances and I am not creditworthy for gainful employment or renting. My only support system in this has been my father who continues working day in and day out for a home he built portions of that was supposed to be handed down to his grandkids.
I will be speaking with a VA foreclosure specialist and updating on my needs but I posted this GoFundMe in 2025 with the hopes of saving our home but I am unfortunately going to face being chronically ill and disabled and auctioned.
$1 and a share is a ray of sunshine and hope during the darkest chapter of my life. I can't explain how deeply disappointed I am in myself not being able to get disability or a job but the last year has been really bad for everyone in this boat. The more you relate to this story, the more likely you are to feel like we are all sinking together and I am so sorry.
Thank you for your time,
Brittany
