About the Show
The thing I love most about A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the way it humanizes our perception of fantasy. While we learn that even gods are capable of frivolous mistakes, they’re equally capable of making amends. In this story, fairies and mortals alike strive for a better world—the world that they knowingly or unknowingly share. This concept has always brought me comfort in the examination of my own reality.

Famously, this play is also about the exploration of love. What is true love, really? Is it reserved only for romance, or can it be found amongst our friends? Our colleagues? Our love for our art? Are we able to love in multiple forms at once? Does love look different over time? It’s the characters of this story answering these questions for themselves that excites me most about telling it. And for our audiences, I’m thrilled for them to witness the whimsy, hilarity, chaos, and hope in that discovery.

Plus, we’ve got puppets. Who doesn’t love puppets?!
—Mo Moffett, director

Who We Are
Mo Moffett (they/he, Director) is a trans & nonbinary actor/writer/director (they’ve never stuck to just one thing!) living in West Hollywood. His day job is at the happiest place on Earth, Nickelodeon Animation, where he gets to write down what funny people say all day. Mo’s most recent theatre credits include T (Director/Performer), Bedridden (Handywoman), She Kills Monsters (Director), Dis-topia: An Original Musical (Clancey), Into the Woods (Director), and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) (Self). They would like to dedicate their work on this show to all the trans people who have ever existed —and will exist, forever.
Jonathan H To (he/him, Producer) is a producer, director, and soon-to-be accountant with a passion for stories: stories about family, love, and culture in all their conventional and unconventional forms. Since returning to theatre, he has directed Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman, and produced California Suite and Hedwig and the Angry Inch among others. He has worked in design with IAMA Theatre on The Very Best People (Video) and Don’t Touch My Hair (Sound). Samantha Reed (she/they, Producer) is a multihyphenate creative with credits spanning film, television, voiceover, and theatrical pursuits. They are a graduate of Chapman University’s prestigious acting program; during her time there, she produced several short films and a feature, as well as a play that garnered an audience of over 500 people on Chapman’s largest stage. Samantha has produced, edited, written, and acted in multiple awardwinning short films and features, most notably Cultivate, which garnered acceptance to the prestigious Mammoth Film Festival. Recent live productions include the LA run of Too Much Of A Good Thing and their partnership with Mo on She Kills Monsters and T. When not on stage or behind the scenes, they work in marketing, hosting and publicizing fundraisers and events throughout Hollywood.
