Support A Middle Passage at the OOB Festival — A Surreal, Urgent Tale of Immigration
Written by Chinese immigrant playwright Yide Cai, A Middle Passage is a surreal, deeply personal exploration of cultural memory, survival, and the quiet grief of displacement. Set in a
mysterious drive-thru sealed off from the outside world, three generations of an immigrant family work tirelessly to serve the customers they never see, and struggle to fulfill unseen orders
as language and time begin to fracture.
At a time when immigration, deportation, and cultural erasure dominate headlines, this play asks: Does America still believe in itself as a nation of immigrants?
Your donation will help bring this urgent and poetic work to the New York stage as part of the prestigious Concord Theatricals Off-Off-Broadway Festival. It will support artist compensation, design and production costs—and most importantly, amplify a vital voice in American theatre.
Help us share this story. Help us keep immigrant memories alive.
