Nunca imaginé que me tocaría escribir algo así, pero cuando una hermana enfrenta una batalla por su vida, solo hay espacio para el amor, la union y la esperanza.

Mi nombre es Mirna Robles (algunos amigos me conocen como "Carla") y desde Estados Unidos estoy creando esta campaña para mi hermana menor, Merly Aiskel, una madre soltera que vive en Venezuela y que ha enfrentado con valentía el cáncer desde el año 2023.

Merly Aiskel es una mujer fuerte, valiente, perseverante, y con un espíritu inquebrantable. Desafortunadamente, el cáncer ha regresado. Después de someterse a quimioterapia, radioterapia y braquiterapia en 2023, los médicos confirmaron una recaída. Ahora, Merly necesita una nueva intervención quirúrgica urgente (vaginectomia más histerectomía) para remover el “tumor en pared pélvica de agresividad biológica” y una serie de exámenes médicos pre y post operatorios, como resonancias magnéticas, análisis de sangre, y tratamientos médicos.

En Venezuela, los costos médicos son altísimos y las opciones son muy limitadas. A pesar de estar buscando apoyo a través de instituciones públicas y fundaciones locales, no tiene suficiente para cubrir todos los gastos. Es por eso que hoy recurrimos a la solidaridad de personas como tú, que nos pueden ayudar a cubrir estos costos y darle a Merly la oportunidad de vencer esta lucha.

Merly Aiskel cumple 41 años este 15 de abril, y nuestro mayor deseo es poder regalarle salud, esperanza y más tiempo para seguir criando a sus dos hijos varones y disfrutando de la vida que tanto ama.

I never imagined I would have to write something like this, but when your sister is fighting for her life, there’s no room for pride—only love and hope.

My name is Mirna Robles (some friends know me as "Carla") and I’m creating this campaign from the U.S. for my younger sister, Merly Aiskel, a single mother who lives in Venezuela and has bravely battled cancer since 2023.

Merly Aiskel is a strong, courageous, and resilient woman with a spirit that never gives up. Sadly, her cancer has returned. After undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and brachytherapy in 2023, doctors have confirmed a relapse. She has now been diagnosed with a tumor in the pelvic wall with biological aggressiveness, and she urgently needs surgery to remove it, along with several pre- and post-operative medical tests including MRIs, blood work, and medications.

In Venezuela, medical costs are extremely high and options are very limited. She is trying to get help from public institutions and local foundations, but it’s not enough. That’s why I’m turning to generous hearts like yours, who can help her win this fight.

Merly Aiskel turns 41 this April 15, and our greatest wish is to give her the gift of health, hope, and more time to raise her two sons and enjoy the life she loves so much.
