A mental wellbeing advent calendar

For many, Christmas is a joyful time that is spent with friends and family. For others, it can be the hardest time of year. This could be due to past events, trauma,  loneliness  or mental illness. This year, Sam Barakat has decided to design an advent calendar for those who may find Christmas and New Years difficult. Each day will have an envelope. In each envelope will be a positive quote and a question to reflect on the day.

The difference with this advent calendar is that it’s positive quotes every day, rather than chocolate. As well as this, there will be 32 envelopes, one for every day from December 1st to January 1st.

At least 50 of these will be donated to mental health hospitals for young people under 18. This will be done through Christmas for CAMHS, a UK charity.

All donations will go to covering the cost of the 50 donated to CAMHS wards across the country.
Any money left over from this, will be donated to Support For Us, a charity Sam Barakat is starting, to provide training around young people's mental health.

If you would like to purchase one, please donate a minimum of £6 and email your name and postal address to [email redacted].

Please note, when it states "GoFundMe has a 0% platform fee for organizers and relies on the generosity of donors like you to operate our service.", £1 is automatically selected. This goes to GoFundMe as opposed to the fundraiser. If you click 'other' and then type 0, you will not be charged for donating. Otherwise, you will get charged £1 extra.
