Hi, I’m Tara and with permission from Natasha and the rest of Nala‘s family. I have started a GoFundMe page to raise money for a small memorial statue and plaque of Nala to hopefully be placed at Stevenage train station (or very near too.) Nala (who was born male but who purrfurrred to be referred to as ‘she’ by her nearest and dearest) was a sweetheart of the community, although her fame extended for beyond Stevenage with over 150,000 followers across social media platforms and a music single under her belt
People travelled from far and wide to meet her and she did a fair bit of travelling herself, frequenting many local businesses around Stevenage for a fuss and cuddle. She bought so much warmth and joy to whoever she met, it seems only right and fitting that we honour her memory at her favourite place
If you would like to donate towards her memorial, please do so here. I have so far contacted GNR who run Stevenage train station, the mayor of Stevenage’s office and I will next be contacting the Comet.
It would be lovely to get a memorial statue along the lines of ‘Hendrix the Saltburn cat’ and I have also reached out to the sculptor who did his bronze memorial to see if he would be interested in doing one for Nala.
let’s get this fundraiser going for our furry feline legend!
